A new partnership is bringing helicopter training to Delaware State University’s (DSU) Aviation program.

On Thursday, 20 April 2023, high, gusty winds resultant of a passing storm destroyed eight airplanes and damaged three others at Kansas City, Missouri’s Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport (MKC). The entirety of the destroyed and damaged aircraft belong to ATD Flight Systems, a flight school and 27-year MKC institution. On 25 April 2023, Allegiant Travel Company announced the launch of its Accelerate Pilot Pathway, a nascent initiative ostensibly benefiting university students pursuing pilot careers with major airlines. Allegiant is partnering with universities offering Part 141 flight training programs—such as Purdue University, Kent State University, and Western Michigan University.
