December Trial Date Set For Man Who Fired On A Helicopter

Idaho Resident Accused Of Firing Four Times, Hitting The Aircraft Twice

Nearly to years ago, 58-year-old John Ross who lives in north-central Idaho allegedly fired four shots at a helicopter, hitting the aircraft twice. In December, Ross will stand trial in Shoshonoe County's 1st Distric Court for the action.

Earlier this month, Ross pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Lewiston Tribune reports that Ross is charged with firing at a helicopter owned by Hillcrest Aircraft Co. of Lewiston while it conducted a controlled burn operationg over land owned by Potlach Corp. The pilot, Earl Palmer, was able to land the aircraft safely.

Ross has been charged with interfering with an aircraft, a felony. The trial is set to begin December 4th.
