Doubles Initial Order Last Year From Airline

STARLUX Airlines of Taiwan placed a firm order for five more Airbus A350F freighter aircraft, doubling last year’s order for the all-new cargo carrier. STARLUX Cargo will operate the A350F on its busiest freight routes.

STARLUX currently operates 26 Airbus aircraft including the A321neo, the A330neo, and the A350-900.

The A350F is currently under development and is slated to carry a payload of up to 11 tons and be able to fly 4,700 nm / 8,700 km. It is powered by the latest Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines with a reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions of up to 40% compared to previous generation aircraft.

STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai said, “The cargo market is set to become a key element in our business model and will benefit from the advantages offered by Taiwan’s geographical location. The A350F is the perfect choice for STARLUX, offering a similar payload-range capability as previous generation freighters, but with very significant reductions in fuel consumption and carbon emissions.”
