Maxcraft Avionics Receives FAA STC For SkyWatch HP SKY899 TCAS-I

Canadian STC Verified For Installation In Beech 200/B200 And 300/B300 KingAir Series

The FAA has validated a Transport Canada STC held by Maxcraft Avionics Ltd. for installation of the SKY899 TCAS-1 System or upgrade of existing SKY497 Skywatch TAS to SKY899 TCAS-I in the Beech 200/200C/B200/B200C/300/B300/B300C KingAir Series.

The SKY899 Traffic Collision Avoidance System monitors the airspace around the aircraft and advises the crew when to look for transponder equipped aircraft that may pose a threat. Traffic information on the existing Sandel ST3400 display generally includes; range, relative bearing, relative altitude and closure rate. Calculating eight most threatening aircraft in range, the SKY899 provides Closest Point of Approach (CPA), Other Traffic (OT), Proximity Advisory (PA) and a single level of threat advisory known as a Traffic Advisory (TA) all by graphical depiction and audible warning for Traffic Advisories.

This installation approval leverages itself on existing SKY 497 TAS installations by re-using the approved NY-164 antenna installation for the NY-156 TCAS-I Antenna.

Where an existing Skywatch WX1000/WX1000+ Display is existing, that display may be retained for display of Stormscope and Traffic Advisory in addition to the TCAS-I level display on the Sandel ST3400 TAWS-A/RMI Indicator.
