F-35A and Growler Demo Teams Release Updated 2021 Schedules

Despite Tight Schedules, A Few New Appearances Have Been Added

Our friends at the International Council of AirShows have come through once again... this time with updated scheedules for two highly enriching military jet demonstration programs.

In February, the U.S. Air Force F-35A demo team announced a reduction in their 2021 air show schedule due to increased operational requirements and a reported shortage of aircraft engine parts. Late last week, the team announced the addition of four new events to their air show season schedule, a welcome update for the highly sought-after demo.

The added shows in the team's 2021 season include:

  • June 12-13 - Deke Slayton Airfest, La Crosse, WI
  • September 11 - Truckee Tahoe Airshow & Family Festival, Truckee, CA
  • September 16-19 - National Championship Air Races, Reno, NV
  • October 16-17 - Northern Colorado Airshow, Loveland, CO

Growler Legacy Flight Team

Recently, the U.S. Navy announced the 2021 schedule for the EA-18G Growler Legacy Flights in North America. The team is set to fly Legacy Flights at each of these locations, but currently will not be performing full aerobatic demonstrations.

The Growler Legacy Flight Team replaces the previous F/A-18 Hornet demonstration team which had limited appearances in 2019 due to U.S. Navy operational requirements.

The 2021 show schedule includes:

  • June 5-6 - Great Tennessee Air Show, Smyrna, TN
  • June 19-20 - Moses Lake Airshow, Moses Lake, WA
  • July 3-4 - Wings and Wheels, Gig Harbor, WA
  • July 28-31 - EAA AirVenture, Oshkosh, WI
  • August 7-8 - Thunder Over Michigan, Ypsilanti, MI
  • August 21-22 - Edmonton Airshow, Edmonton, AB
  • October 2-3 - The Great Pacific Airshow, Huntington Beach, CA
  • October 16-17 - Central Florida Air and Space Show, Sanford, FL
  • October 30-31 - Wings Over North Georgia, Rome, GA
