AMTSociety Offers U.S. Military Scholarship Program

All Military Aviation Personnel Are Eligible To Apply

U.S. military personnel are eligible for A&P scholarships through the AMTSociety. The program is being offered with the help of Baker’s School of Aeronautics in Nashville, TN, Mike Eason – DME, and the Northrop Rice Foundation. The total value of the scholarship is estimated at more than $3,000, and the training encompasses approximately two weeks.

All military personnel from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Navy are eligible to apply. Each individual must have been involved in aviation during his or her enlistment and have their skill level stated on their DD-214 Form upon discharge. The DD-214 Form must then be taken to the local FSDO - along with two completed FAA Form 8610-2 - for review and endorsement from an FAA Airworthiness Inspector.

One copy of the completed FAA Form 8610-2 must accompany the individual applicant’s AMTSociety U.S. Military Scholarship Form to the scholarship committee for review and evaluation. The application form is available here. Deadline for scholarship application is December 15.
