SkyDrive And JetSetGo Partner On India eVTOL Routes

Deal Includes Pre-Order For 50 SKYDRIVE Aircraft

Japan-based SkyDrive announced the signing of a strategic partnership with JetSetGo Aviation Services to build new routes for an eVTOL service in the Indian state of Gujarat and possibly additional locations around India. The agreement was facilitated by the Suzuki Motor Company under a previous collaboration between Suzuki and SkyDrive, and included a pre-order by JetSetGo for 50 of the SKYDRIVE eVTOL aircraft.

SkyDrive has been looking into developing a market in India and building potential use cases since 2022. The company established a partnership with the government of Gujarat in January 2024 to address the range of challenges facing the transportation sector in India. The issues in India are a combo plate of both extreme urban congestion as well as the large volume of emissions caused by the high volume of road traffic.

As the leading private jet operator in India, JetSetGo sees the partnership with SkyDrive as a big step forward into the future of sustainable aviation. The pre-order of the eVTOL aircraft is in alignment with the company’s longer-term vision of offering efficient, eco-friendly travel solutions while also tackling the urban congestion and reducing the environmental impact of current mobility options.

Through the partnership, the two companies are seeking to introduce eVTOL technology to India’s transportation mix. They’ll assess the commercial viability of operations around the broader Ahmedabad area while also looking at other areas for expansion of route offerings.

The collaborative effort sets the stage for wider adoption of air taxis and transforming urban advanced air mobility with eco-friendly, fast, and accessible transportation options.
