New Li Battery STCs For Gulfstream, Bombardier Nearing Approval

Upgrades For Business And Regional Jet Models

True Blue Power and 101 Aviation are collaborating on the True Blue Power Gen5 TB50 and TB20 lithium-ion battery upgrades, and announced that the battery STCs for some Gulfstream and Bombardier aircraft models will be available in Q1 2026. Further certifications will follow later.

The TB20 is a 20 amp-hour battery and the TB50 is the 50 amp-hour battery. True Blue Power manufactures lithium-ion batteries while 101 Aviation specializes in developing STCs and the installation kits.

Both the TB20 and TB50 will be available in Q1 2026 for the Gulfstream GIV, G450, GV, and G550 aircraft as well as the Bombardier Challenger 601, 604, 605, 650 and CRJ Series aircraft.

Coming in Q2 2026 will be STCs for the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER models as well as the Bombardier Global Express Series of aircraft.

Michael McClain, President of 101 Aviation said, “True Blue Power’s advanced lithium-ion battery technology has a perfect safety record, with more than 12 million flight hours on FAA Part 23, 25 and 27 aircraft. These STCs provide the opportunity for business jet operators to maximize aircraft availability, reliability, and income-earning potential. Built to last, we’re backing our STC Kit with an extended 4-year warranty.”

The True Blue Power Gen5 batteries do not require any maintenance, so Gulfstream and Bombardier owners and operators will avoid average battery service costs of $4,000 per year in addition to eliminating the loss of time in service.

The batteries feature a proprietary Battery Management System that provides constant monitoring, protection, and capacity data. This includes real-time state of charge and state of health, as well as an average useful life of 8 years, four times longer than other options.

McClain added, “The TB50 is a same-size replacement for standard 44 amp-hour batteries, while weighing 50% less. This provides a direct path to the STC upgrade and delivers all the benefits of advanced lithium-ion technology.”
