navAero Presents Affordable Computer Display For Private Pilots

navAero, creator of situational awareness solutions for private pilots, presents its premiere product, the Tactical Pilot Awareness Display (tPad™ 800). Named for placing an emphasis on situational awareness and featuring a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (portrait mode), the tPad 800 claims to be the most affordable display on the market today for viewing advanced aeronautical software.

What It Is

The tPad 800 is an 8.4" diagonal color touch screen attached to a sleek, curved aluminum base that fits comfortably around the pilot's leg. The screen, which is sunlight readable, is connected to an interface box that links to a laptop computer, allowing pilots to experience the advantages of electronic flight-bag technology at a fraction of the expected cost. Both the interface box and the laptop can be stored discreetly behind the seat. The tPad 800 is powered by a plug-in 12VDC connection to the cigarette lighter available on most small planes.

With the tPad 800, pilots can use all of the most advanced Windows-based aviation software such as:

  • FliteMap® for total navigational superiority
  • JeppView® with FlightDeck® for the industry standard in IFR
  • Mountainscope™ (for excellent altitude awareness)
  • FUGAWI Military™ (for tactical low-level navigation)
  • Flightsoft™/Vista (for a low cost moving map solution

The tPad 800 is equipped with the following features:

  • Sunlight-readable touch screen with stylus
  • Fully dimmable screen for night flying
  • Onscreen keyboard
  • Full-monitor functionality
  • Enables all capabilities of moving-map technology
  • Rugged yet lightweight aluminum construction
  • Think and comfortable ergonomics
  • Upfront brightness controls
  • 8.4" active-matrix liquid crystal display color screen
  • Display: 800 x 600 pixel (portrait mode)
  • Optional battery runs and charges your laptop at the same time it runs tPad 800
  • 1-year warranty (parts and labor)
  • Fits the standard 6-1/4" radio stack for experimental aircraft
  • All necessary drivers, cables and portrait-mode software included
