Flexjet Deal Drives Record Embraer Backlog

Jet Manufacturer Secures Up To $7B Deal With Private Jet Company

Embraer recently announced a deal with private jet company Flexjet, which is valued at up to $7 billion and has more than 180 guaranteed orders. The agreement brings the manufacturer’s backlog to a record $26.3 billion backlog, marking a 40% year-to-year increase.

“We are delighted with Flexjet’s renewed commitment to Embraer through this comprehensive purchase agreement, which strengthens even further our strategic partnership of over 20 years,” expressed Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO of Embraer Executive Jets. “We are excited to continue offering Flexjet’s customers access to our market-leading Phenom jets and our Praetor jets, the best in their respective categories.”

The partnership’s latest purchase agreement is the largest firm order for executive jets in Embraer history. It contains 182 guaranteed orders for Praetor 600, Praetor 500, and Phenom 300E executive jets, leaving the door open for up to 30 more orders. It also provides upgrades to Flexjet’s service and support.

The agreement will deliver Flexjet its first new generation Phenom 300E jet. It currently operates a wide fleet of Praetor 600, Praetor 500, and Phenom 300 series aircraft, with purchases dating back to 2003. New deliveries are slated for 2026 to 2030.

“Since 2003, we have accepted delivery of more than 150 Embraer aircraft,” said Michael Silvestro, CEO of Flexjet. “Both the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 are high performers in the Flexjet fleet… And as the first fractional provider of the Praetor 500, our maintenance technicians and our pilots are intimately familiar with the aircraft and are looking forward to the continued growth of this fleet.”

With an up to $7 billion value, the Flexjet order pushed Embraer’s backlog to a record $26.3 billion in 2024 Q4. This is an increase of 40% year-on-year and 16% quarter-on-quarter.

This is yet another Embraer milestone that has been shared with Flexjet. The private jet company was the first fleet customer for several Embraer jets, including the Legacy Executive in 2003, the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016, and the Praetor 500/600 in 2019. Flexjet also took delivery of the 100th Phenom 300 in 2012 and then the 1,000th Embraer executive jet in 2019 with a Legacy 500.
