Karma Drone Refund Includes A Hero5 Black Camera

GoPro Offering The Camera As An Incentive To Return The Aircraft

Amid the disappointment of a complete recall of GoPro's Karma drone, there is one silver lining. The company is offering a GoPro Hero5 Black camera to customers who return their aircraft along with a complete refund.

Digital Trends reports that about 2,500 people who had taken delivery of their Karma drones are eligible for the refunds. The company is offering the free camera as a goodwill gesture in the hopes that the buyers will not hold a grudge. The Hero5 has features like voice control, image stabilization, and improved audio quality.

Some Karma buyers may already have a Hero5 Black purchased for use with the new drone. But others have been using the older Hero4 camera, so the upgrade will likely be much appreciated.

GoPro says that the entire drone system, including aircraft, camera and controller must be returned, at which time the company will send the Hero5 Black "as a thank you."
