ANN Gets ‘Busted’ Over YouTube Fear Of Airplane Sex/Nudity

Perversion Is In The Eye Of The Beholder... Right?

Well... you don’t see this every day.

Following a recent episode of Airborne Unmanned, featuring a thumbnail showing a hydrogen fueled Pipistrel Hy4 prototype built by MAHEPA, we received the following warning from YouTube.

“We wanted to let you know our team reviewed your content, and we think it violates our sex and nudity policy.

We know you may not have realized this was a violation of our policies, so we're not applying a strike to your channel. However, we have removed the following content from YouTube: Thumbnail on video.”

The thumbnail, as seen here, is a shameless picture of an otherwise naked airplane... which we assume, at least according to YouTube standards, should have been clothed. Imagine our embarrassment when we understood this grievous error.

Suitably chastened, we resolve to make sure that all pictured aircraft are properly attired and apologize to the aviation community for our faux paux and lack of awareness as to how offensive naked airplanes can be to a bastion of community sensitivity like YouTube.

In order to forestall any other future difficulties, Editor-In-Chief Jim Campbell has voluntarily submitted himself to YouTube aviation community sensitivity training so that he may not mistakenly run afoul of such restrictions in the future -- especially so long before such foolishness could have been used for our annual April First edition... Grin

Happy Holidays, everyone!
