Bombardier Learjet Sees Deliveries Rise In The First Quarter

Posts Best Performance Since 2011, But Not Fully Recovered

There are a few bright spots in the aviation business, despite GAMA's report last Friday that all segments of the industry saw a decline in deliveries and revenue in the first quarter of 2015.

One example is Bombardier Learjet, which saw its best year since 2011 in terms of deliveries of new airplanes in first quarter of 2015.

The Wichita Business Journal reports that Bombardier Learjet delivered 9 airplanes in the first three months of the year, which is up from six last year and a dismal three in 2013. The best first quarter in the last five years was 2011, when the company delivered 13 airplanes, but even that was down from 2008, when 22 airplanes were delivered in the first quarter.

Currently, only the Learjet 70 and 75 are assembled in Wichita. Bombardier has put the Learjet 85 on hold.
