Seven New Suppliers Sign On For Global 7000, 8000 Jet Program

Major Systems Set For Large Business Jets

Bombardier Aerospace today revealed more information about the selection of seven suppliers on major packages on its new Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets, and you'd hardly call them the seven dwarves. Rockwell Collins, Parker Aerospace, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, Liebherr-Aerospace, Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems, Apparatebau Gauting GmbH and Arrowhead Products have all joined the program.

The awarding of these contracts to renowned aerospace companies, who will design and manufacture key systems, is an important milestone in the program.

Rockwell Collins has been selected for the avionics system and primary flight control computer; Parker Aerospace, the hydraulics system and fly-by-wire flight control technology; Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, the main and nose landing gear system; Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems (MABS), the wheels and braking system; Liebherr-Aerospace, the air management system; Apparatebau Gauting GmbH, the water and waste system; and Arrowhead Products, the ducting system.

"When developing new aircraft, Bombardier aims to bring together the industry's top talent to design and manufacture jets that feature advanced technology with the flexibility to incorporate future innovation. We are delighted to welcome this group of high-quality suppliers to join us in developing what will be the industry's most exciting new business jets since the original Global Express aircraft," said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "The new Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets have experienced tremendous market response, and we are very pleased that the program is moving forward rapidly and on schedule."

"The Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft are stellar examples of the best our industry has to offer in every sense," said Janice Davis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. "We will work closely with this group of leading global suppliers that are aligned with our vision and share the same passion for performance and flawless execution. Together we will ensure the future success of this great platform."
