Its Not An iPod from Apple, But An ePod From IndUS Aviation

ePods From Indus

ANN Correspondent John Ballantyne

IndUS Aviation, the makers of the T211 THORPEDO and the T 11 and Sky Skooter, just released the ePod, a simpler approach to engine monitoring and management that offers a simple, visual interface.

The ePod monitors and displays typical engine information through a Transflective display screen, surrounded by 8 keys. Typically, the ePod scrolls an information screen containing different engine information every 3 seconds, and you may access specific information anytime by pressing a key.

"This is an idea I have had for some time, and now I am glad to announce that we are able to offer it to others. I wanted an easy to use system with increased capability and safety of flight," commented Indus Owner Ram Pattisapu.

The ePod display always shows engine RPM, time, outside temperature, fuel flow and quantity. The center of the display is for other readings such as CHT, EGT, Oil temp and pressure, bolts amps, elapsed time, countdown timer, checklists and more.

The ePod includes upper and lower thresholds for all systems including audio alarm. The ePod software can be upgraded through the front serial port. Additionally, there is a front mounted USB port so you can insert a memory stick and take your flight information to your computer. This has many applications from personal use to flight school to engine diagnostics and service. Indus Aviation can load more than 100 different engines parameters in the ePod, so you do not have to mess with "customizing" the software. It is plug and play.

Although it is an epod, not an ipod, both might be nice to have in your cockpit.
