64th Annual AEA Int'l Convention & Trade Show Opens Big

Four Days Of Training, Networking, Professional Development And COOL Technology!

Nearly 1,500 avionics manufacturers, repair stations, installers and other general aviation professionals have converged at the 64th annual Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention & Trade Show, which opened today at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

The four-day event started Tuesday, and it is the largest gathering of avionics manufacturers, distributors and government-certified repair stations in the world.

The event's primary focus is providing avionics professionals with educational and marketing opportunities between equipment manufacturers, distributors and government-certified repair stations.

Aviation's technology experts are experiencing the following highlights during the week:

  • More than 30 companies will participate in the AEA New Product Introductions session June 22.
  • More than 100 hours of regulatory, technical and business management training and professional development courses.
  • More than 120 companies will fill the exhibit hall with the latest avionics technologies and services, June 23-24.
  • The latest regulatory updates impacting aviation businesses.
  • Kevin Miesbach will be honored as the AEA Member of the Year.
  • EDMO Distributors will be honored as the AEA Associate Member of the Year.
  • Gene Marks will give the keynote address, June 22. A former daily columnist for both the New York Times and Washington Post, Marks now writes weekly on small business, public policy and technology for The Guardian, The Washington Times, The Hill, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Forbes (where he writes the popular "On CRM" column), Entrepreneur and Accounting Today.
  • Free Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification and endorsement exams to convention attendees, courtesy of the AEA Educational Foundation and its partnership with ASTM International's National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT). Attendees may test their knowledge in achieving the highly regarded AET certification, which is recognized by the FAA as equivalent to formal training when showing eligibility for the issuance of a repairman certificate. Attendees may take these exams for free during the convention, courtesy of the AEA Educational Foundation.
  • All OEM sessions are approved for credit toward the AEA's Avionics Training Excellence Award, as well as accepted for FAA IA renewal and the AMT Awards Program.

 

Official Opening And New Product Introductions Livestreaming

One of the most popular sessions each year is the AEA New Product Introductions during the opening session, sponsored by Gogo Business Aviation. This must-see event takes place Tuesday, June 22, and it continues to draw the attention of the entire general aviation community.
