Verijet Takes $328k Charge After No-Showing Court

Vision Jet Operator Builds on Its Already Lengthy Court History

Florida-based charter and jet card operator Verijet is being forced to chalk up $328,000 for a default judgment, won by a customer who claims that he was denied the 100 flight hours that he purchased. This adds to the company’s ever-growing stack of legal losses.

On January 15, 2023, Brandon Kruse dropped $275,000 on a Verijet JetCard that would give him 100 flight hours in the operator’s Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet fleet. He was charged an additional $20,625 in Federal Excise Tax on the purchase, bringing his tab to $295,625.

Kruse’s JetCard hours are now up to 119.5 through a renewal, the filing states. This means that his grand total comes out to $328,625.

Despite the hefty purchase, Verijet allegedly “has not fulfilled any of the plaintiff’s requests for air charter services since May 4, 2024.” Kruse added that Verijet “repeatedly cancelled legs or failed to fulfill legs when requested.”

The customer brought his concerns forward with a lawsuit, filed on March 20, 2025. Verijet failed “to serve or file any paper as required by law,” the judge wrote, leading to a default judgment that grants Kruse the $328,625 spent on his jet card. The decision was made in the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit In And For Miami-Dade County in Florida.

“As you know, our current jet card program does not offer guaranteed service,” wrote Verijet Founder and CEO Richard Kane. “That said, we’ve taken this experience to heart and used it as a catalyst for positive change.”

Verijet has faced several similar lawsuits this year. Just weeks before Kruse’s case, on-demand charter broker Jettly was awarded $10,063 in two default judgments when Verijet failed to refund two canceled flights. Jettly had filed these lawsuits in May 2024.

The operator was hit with a much bigger case in January 2025, being forced to pay $3.4 million to Vision Leasing 241 after a lengthy legal battle over unpaid rent, future rent, and taxes.
