SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2007-12-12
SUMMARY: We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above.

This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as: * * * discovery of interferences between the power wire supplying the galley's coffee-maker and the surrounding structure.

These interferences might, by chafing and degrading the wire insulation, generate short circuits between the wire and the aircraft ground through the composite cabinet structure, without activation of the Circuit Breaker(C/B). Several hot spots may then be created and generate a large amount of thick smokes just behind the cockpit.

We are issuing this AD to require actions to correct the unsafe condition on these products.
