Tiger Moth Impacts Car At U.K. Charity Event

Woman Taken To The Hospital That Was The Beneficiary Of The Event

A woman was injured Sunday when a Tiger Moth taking part in a charity event impacted her car shortly after takeoff from Brimpton Airfield near Reading, Berkshire.

CBN Europe reports that the former RAF aircraft had two men on board, both of whom were slightly injured but walked away from the crash. The woman was transported by Air Ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, perhaps ironically the charity for which the event was raising money.

There was a small fuel leak associated with the accident. Brimpton Flying Club member Eugene Johnson, who is a retired fire officer, said that the U.K. AAIB had been alerted about the accident and the airfield had been closed pending an investigation.

There were about 100 spectators at the event, Johnson said.
