Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli Says Symbols Of The Nation Such As An Anthem, Flag And Insignia Are To Be Created And Chosen By Asgardian Citizens
The founder of Asgardia, Dr., Igor Ashurbeyli, has declared that he will seek UN recognition for the Space Nation over the next year, by asking for the support of nations around the world. Dr. Ashurbeyli will work with a team of global experts in order to open talks with countries and the UN. Asgardia will seek to open up space exploration and research involving both nations and citizens from around the world, keeping global involvement at the core of the Space Nation.

"As the Head of Asgardia, I will represent the Asgardian Nation in talks with Earth countries and the UN in order to have Asgardia gain UN membership and recognition as a full independent state and Asgardia will work towards global cooperation, increasing access to space, driving technology and increasing research,” Dr. Ashurbeyli said.
One month ago, Asgardia, the Space Nation was launched in Paris. Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli thanked all those who have applied to become citizens.
"One month has passed since I announced the creation of the first Space Nation — Asgardia, Dr. Ashurbeyli said. We thought that the first 100,000 future Asgardians would register by the end of 2016, but we reached our target within the first 40 hours! And over 500,000 during the first 20 days. So today, I want to say to all of you – Thank You!”
It was also announced to the citizens of Asgardia that the Space Nation will continue to develop the core values of the project, and as such, Asgardia will begin a consultation process in order to create a constitution. "It is time to vote for the Declaration of Unity of Asgardia, which will declare the core values of Asgardia and will become the basis for the preparation and ratification of the Asgardian Constitution,” he said.

Asgardia will be opening a forum in the near future. This forum will be a place for people from all walks of life to come together and plan the future of Asgardia. As well as the forum, Asgardia will also have its flag, anthem and insignia, created by citizens and chosen through online competitions—showing that the nation puts its citizens at the heart of everything that it does.
Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli concluded his statement by calling on citizens to continue the momentum around Asgardia: “During the first month of its existence, Asgardia has expanded at the speed of light– just like a space nation should. Let's keep that dynamism going!”
