ANN's Daily Aero-Linx (07.10.16)

Aero-Linx!

Scouring the information super airways can sometimes be a tough, if educational, task for the Aero-News staff... but it also allows us to check out some truly neat and exciting sites, so it's not that bad a gig. On any given day, we may check dozens (and often hundreds) of different sources for story ideas, and facts confirmation. And, as is the nature of our business, much of this is done on the Internet.

The ANN gang decided we probably shouldn't keep some of the neat sites, info resources, and organizations we've discovered to ourselves... so we decided to bring you Aero-Linx. These are the sites that WE check out -- when we need added perspective, a new spin on a day's topic... or just want to escape into cyber-aero-space for awhile.

Look for some of our favorite sites, coming each day to ANN via Aero-Linx. Suggestions for future Aero-Linx segments are always welcome, as well.

Aero Linx: Associated Pilots of Iowa (API)

You're invited to join the Associated Pilots of Iowa. We are a grass-roots organization which includes pilots, spouses, families, and people who are just interested in general aviation. Our goals are to promote flying safety and pilot proficiency, speak to regulators with a unified voice, and to have family fun in flying-related activities. Make plans to attend our next local function so you can socialize and share your aviation experiences and interests.
The API sponsors quarterly aviation safety and education seminars in partnership with the FAA, FSDO, the Iowa DOT, and other local organizations. Seminars are designed to increase pilot knowledge and to promote information exchanges with local FAA and DOT officials. Pilots who attend meet one of the requirements to complete the FAA’s Pilot Proficiency (Wings) program.
API members are automatically affiliated with the United States Pilots Association, which now includes over 7,500 pilots and aviation enthusiasts across the nation.
