Judge Says Former TSA Agent Mentally Unfit To Stand Trial

Ex-Screener Had Made Threats To Airport Officials Last September 10th

A former TSA agent who allegedly made threatening phone calls to airport officials at Los Angeles International Airport last September 10th has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial by a federal judge in California.

The former TSA employee is Nna Alpha Onuoha. He was accused of making the phone calls and demanding that the terminals be evacuated, and had been charged with "false information and hoaxes" and "making telephone threats."

The Associated Press reports that Onuoha was also the screener at the center of a controversy in which he had criticized a 15-year-old girl for her "skimpy attire" that went viral after the girl's father wrote about it on his blog.

U.S. District Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell ruled that Onuoha was not competent to stand trial after a review of a medical evaluation, and hearing a statement described as "rambling and incoherent" from the 30-year-old former TSA employee.

The FBI said Onuoha had resigned from the agency the day before he made the threatening phone calls.
