NTSB Prelim: Raytheon Aircraft Company C90A

In Cruise Flight At Flight Level (FL) 200 The Pilot Lost Consciousness, And The Passenger Attempted Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

On October 4, 2024, about 1340 Pacific daylight time, a Raytheon Aircraft Company C90A, N6077X, was not damaged when it was involved in an accident near Bakersfield, California. The pilot was fatally injured, and the passenger was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.

According to the passenger, the flight departed from Henderson Executive Airport (HND), Henderson, Nevada, and was destined for Monterey Regional Airport (MRY), Monterey, California. In cruise flight at flight level (FL) 200 the pilot lost consciousness, and the passenger attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The passenger then contacted the Southern California Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) and was given assistance with navigation and airplane operation. The passenger subsequently landed the airplane at Meadows Field Airport (BFL), Bakersfield, California.
