AD: Airbus SAS Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-17-25

PRODUCT: All Airbus SAS Model A350- 941 and -1041 airplanes.

ACTION: Final rule; request for comments.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by reports of uncommanded motion of the flight control actuator.

This AD requires replacing certain rudder and elevator servocontrols with serviceable servocontrols.

DATES: This AD becomes effective September 28, 2018. Comments must be received by October 29, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 11 airplanes of U.S. registry. The cost of compliance is estimated as follows:

  • Up to 15 work-hours × $85 per hour = $1,275. Parts: Up to $548,876. Total cost per airplane Up to $550,151.
