Jeffrey Lee Joins FlightSafety International

Takes Role As Executive Director, Business Aviation Development

FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Lee has joined the company as Executive Director, Business Aviation Development.

“We are very fortunate and proud to have Jeff (pictured) join FlightSafety,” said Bruce Whitman, Chairman, President & CEO. “Jeff and I have been good friends for over 25 years. His 25 years managing large flight departments will contribute to our ongoing development of new and innovative training programs and products. Jeff’s experience and insights as a longtime Customer of FlightSafety will help to expand and strengthen our global reach and leadership position.”

Jeff served as Vice President of Aviation for American Express prior to joining FlightSafety. During his five years with the company, he provided strategic leadership and management for the company’s global aviation operations. He was previously with IBM Corporation for 30 years as Director of Flight Operations. Jeff was responsible for all aspects of the company’s flight operations including safety, service, aircraft acquisition, staffing, training and finances. The department consisted of as many as 60 people who supported aircraft based in New York and Paris.

He served on the National Business Aviation Association Board of Directors for 12 years and was Chairman from 2007 to 2009. Jeff was awarded the John H. Winant Award in 2015. He also served as president of the Westchester Aviation Association for seven years. The association focuses on safety, security, environment and community service at the Westchester County Airport.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanics from the United States Air Force Academy. He was on active duty in the Air Force and in the Army National Guard / Army Reserve for a combined total of 18 years. Jeff was an instructor for the Northrop T- 38 Talon and holds fixed–wing ATP and commercial rotary wing ratings with experience in a wide variety of Bell Helicopter, Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream, Hughes, Bombardier Learjet, and Sikorsky aircraft.
