Air Astana Optimizes Flight Planning

NetLine/Plan From Lufthansa Systems Adopted By The Kazakh Airline

The Kazakh airline Air Astana will optimize its network planning using the NetLine/Plan IT solution from Lufthansa Systems. The airline recently signed a five-year agreement for the solution.

NetLine/Plan simulates new connections and forecasts passenger flows, costs and revenues. The airline can use this information to identify the strengths and weaknesses of its route network and respond to current market requirements. The software solution boosts demand by offering optimal transfer connections and codeshare flights.

NetLine/Plan will enable Air Astana to increase its passenger load factor and ultimately maximize revenues. NetLine/Plan is a module from the NetLine software package from Lufthansa Systems. The NetLine product family is counted among the leading software solutions worldwide in the airline industry, and it helps airlines plan and control their resources.

Air Astana is the national carrier of Kazakhstan and offers connections between 65 destinations in Asia and Europe. Under the management of aviation expert Peter Foster, the airline plans to expand its current fleet of 30 aircraft to 43 aircraft by 2020.
