Thai Flight Attendants Steamed At Steamy Soap Opera

Gee... Can't Imagine Why...

A new soap opera on channel 5 in Bangkok, Thailand has as its central characters female flight attendants who become romantically involved with airline pilots.

The Associated Press reports the show has angered Thai Airways flight attendants, who demanded Monday that the show be canceled for casting their profession in an unrealistic and immoral light.

The first three episodes aired last week. The show is called, "The Air Hostess War," and has reportedly has captivated viewers with a story line about a dashing, married pilot having an affair with one of his tall, slim flight attendants. Love triangles lead to flight attendants slapping each other in aisles during flights, and steamy sex scenes at stopover cities.

The Thai Airways International union has delivered a letter urging the Culture Ministry to order the show to be pulled from the air.

To excerpt comments of a union rep, "This soap opera is insulting and damaging to the reputation of flight attendants. It's all about sex... love and jealousy. This kind of thing never happens."

Insert your favorite punchline here. (We'll only add the graphic shown above isn't an advertisment for the soap opera... but the banner from the Thai Airways website...)
