Banner Blasting NYC Mayor de Blasio Flown Over New York

Support Police Officers Killed In The Line Of Duty

An airplane towing a banner with a message for the Mayor of New York City was flown over Gotham on Friday.

The message ... "de Blasio, Our Backs Have Turned To You" ... echoed behavior that was displayed by some members of the NYPD officers and police union who literally turned their backs on the Mayor during a press event at a New York Hospital after two officers were fatally shot.

The shootings were said to be in retaliation for the deaths of black men reportedly caused by white officers, according to a report from the Associated Press.

A spokesman for the Mayor called the banner divisive. It was reportedly paid for by retired and current officers, according to former officer-turned-activist John Cardillo.
