Mitsubishi Selects Rockwell Collins For MRJ Flight Controls

Will Provide Fly-By-Wire Computers, Associated Interfaces

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) selected Rockwell Collins to provide primary flight control computers, pilot controls and  horizontal stabilizer trim system for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ).

"We are honored that MHI has named Rockwell Collins as a key supplier for its next generation regional jet," said Kelly Ortberg, executive vice president of Commercial Systems and chief operating officer for Rockwell Collins. "We look forward to building a strong relationship with MHI, as we work with them to deliver an aircraft with maximum reliability and operational efficiency."

As ANN reported last November, MHI also selected Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion avionics for the aircraft.

Under terms of the latest agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide the primary flight control computers for MRJ's fly-by-wire system, as well as the pilot controls system including the control wheels, columns, pedals, associated feel systems and pedestal controls and the horizontal stabilizer trim system.
