Simaero Wins Contract With Air And Space Force

Group Will Train and Maintain Skills For Airbus A330 Pilot Training Contract

Simaero has won the contract to train and maintain skills of pilots of Airbus A330 type aircraft, for the French Air and Space Force. The pilots are trained for the benefit of the 31st Strategic Air Transport and Refueling Squadron operating the Airbus A330 MRTT "Phénix" based in Istres.

The “Phénix” is gradually entering into service with the French Air Force and space, replacing the Boeing C135-FRs. The aircraft were used during Operation Resilience against COVID-19, and are equipped with a medical evacuation capacity.

This comprehensive service includes training such as Type Qualification, Cross Crew Qualification, instructors and examiners training, etc.

Simaero is an independent provider of flight crew training, simulator leasing services, engineering and consultancy to commercial airlines and simulator operators. The group operates 18 flight simulators between Paris, Dinard and Johannesburg and provides services to over 100 civil and military clients from more than 65 countries.

"It is an honor and pride to be once again at the service of the Air and Space Force," said Cyril Fabre, Managing Director, Simaero Defense & Government Services. "With this new contract, added to the maintenance contract for the C135-FR flight simulator, we become a preferred supplier to the Air Force by offering our full range of training and engineering services."

The training sessions will take place on the FFS A330 v2.5 UPRT simulator based in the Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle center. Training in the differences between the civil A330-200 aircraft and the A330 MRTT "Phénix" aircraft is also the responsibility of Simaero.
