Caribbean Plane Crash Claims American Family

Actor Christian Oliver And Children Announced by Local Authorities

The Royal St Vincent and Grenadines Police Force identified the victims of a recent plane crash in Bequia, naming a local pilot Robert Sachs, Christian Klepser, and his 2 daughters.

The group were killed when their Bellanca Viking went straight into the sea one mile West of Petit Nevis, just after takeoff from the JF Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm, Bequia on their way to St Lucia. The aircraft was owned by Sachs, who was piloting at the time, and it was reported from local police that the aircraft "experienced difficulties" that caused it to nosedive into the ocean. One short clip of footage caught the plane's final seconds, though detail is hard to acquire.

The crash was quickly attended to by nearby fisherman, who found that the remains of the aircraft had already sunk to a depth of about 70 feet.

Klepser had some notoriety for his acting work in the USA, where he performed under the stage name Christian Oliver. He had been in a long roster of TV and movie projects in his home country of Germany, as well as a handful of American pictures from 1994 to 2020.
