Oregon International Airshow Announces Growler Demo Team to Roster

EA-18Gs Join F-35, A-10 Demonstration Teams at Charity Airshow

The Hillsboro Airport will soon host the US Navy's EA-18G Growler Demo Team for the Oregon International Airshow, running from May 19-21.

The lineup has spent some time in flux in recent months, as everyone works out a schedule for performers across the country. But the Hillsboro roster has been growing at a healthy pace, starting off their initial announcements with the A-10 Thunderbolt II team. Not long after, they announced the addition of the F-35 Lightning II demo team, making the show a convenient chance to see some primo military metal being put through its paces.

The Oregon airshow was away for some time, absent from Hillsboro from 2019 through 2021 due to a combination of issues. First, the field had construction that precluded the use of jets off the constrained runway, then lockdowns the next year before returning to McMinnville.

In 2022 the show returned with an all-female airshow to more than $700,000 in donations to local non-profits, a feat they're looking to top again this year. With a few more months to go, they just might find another performer or two to continue filling out the roster.
