Cessna Selects Hillsboro Aviation as Regional Sales Rep for Caravans

Cessna has selected Hillsboro Aviation (HAI) as its only authorized dealer in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana for Cessna Caravan turbo-prop airplanes. HAI is also an authorized dealer for all Cessna single engine piston planes for all of Oregon and Southwest Washington with additional shared sales territory for Northwest and Eastern Washington, and Northern Idaho. "Hillsboro Aviation fit the bill because of its excellent reputation as a reliable, quality conscious, service-oriented company," said John Doman, Cessna's Vice President, Propeller Aircraft Sales.

When Cessna Caravans first took to the skies more than 20 years ago, their popularity took off, too. Today the single-engine turbo-props operate in more than 70 countries around the world. To date, Caravans have flown more than 5.6 million flight hours (nearly one billion miles or 2,000 round trips to the moon).

Every month, Caravans log more than 30,000 hours of flight time, primarily for cargo hauling, but also for personal transport, paramilitary campaigns, police surveillance, geological surveys, bush, and amphibious operations.

New Caravans feature state-of-the-art avionics packages that provide pilots with near real-time textual and graphical weather information, a traffic surveillance and warning system, and a terrain awareness and warning system.

"The Caravan has proven itself to be one of the most reliable, versatile, and cost-effective airplanes ever built," said Max Lyons, president of Hillsboro Aviation. "We are pleased and honored to be selected as the Caravan Authorized Sales Representative in our region."

Hillsboro Aviation, Inc. (HAI) is the largest full-service small-aircraft aviation company in Oregon, and one of the largest in the U.S. Since its founding in 1980, the company has grown to more than 100 employees and operates the largest flight school in the Pacific Northwest.

HAI is the only authorized dealer for Cessna Caravan single engine turbo-prop planes for the Northwestern U.S. (Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington) and for single engine Cessnas in Oregon and SW Washington, with additional shared sales territories for Northwestern and Eastern Washington, and Northern Idaho. HAI is also the exclusive dealer for Bell Helicopters in Oregon and Washington.

In addition to aircraft sales, Hillsboro Aviation offers aircraft charters, contract helicopter services, line service and full maintenance, refueling, avionics parts sales and an aviator's store, which is open to the public. The company is located at the Hillsboro Airport, which serves suburban Portland, Oregon.
