EAA Skiplane Fly-In Set For Next Saturday

Event Will Also Celebrate Group's 56th Anniversary

Mother Nature appears to be cooperating with the Experimental Aircraft Association, as the organization prepares for next week's annual Skiplane Fly-In at Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh, WI.

The latest iteration of the annual event will take place January 26. A chili lunch will be served beginning at 11 am, followed by birthday cake for EAA matriarch Audrey Poberezny and a celebration of EAA’s 56th anniversary (January 24).

“A steady snowfall in the past week has created excellent conditions for ski operations,” said Sean Elliott, director of flight operations, as even more snow fell last week.

Pilots wishing to fly in on skis must contact Elliott (920-426-4886) to register and receive an arrival briefing. Others are welcome to land at Wittman Regional Airport and catch a shuttle from Basler and Orion FBOs.

Even if you're not able to attend the fly-in, EAA will host a webcam presentation of the event... allowing aficinados around the globe to monitor the Pioneer runway.
