Victims of OSH T-6 Accident Identified, GoFund Me Effort Started

GoFundMe Initiative Undertaken for Decedent’s Family

EAA officials have released the names of two AirVenture attendees killed in a 29 July aircraft accident in the vicinity of Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Wittman Regional Airport (OSH).

At approximately 09:06 CDT, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Communication Center received numerous reports of an aircraft having gone down in Lake Winnebago—a shallow inland lake, the largest in Wisconsin, girded by the cities of Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, and Fond du Lac.

The downed aircraft was identified as a T-6 Texan, a single-reciprocating-engine, two-place, advanced training aircraft manufactured by North American Aviation and utilized to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s.

Responding rescue divers pulled one body from the water shortly after arriving on scene. The body of the second victim remained trapped in the submerged aircraft. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski identified the decedents on Sunday, 30 July, setting forth they are 30-year-old Devyn Reiley of Guadalupe, Texas, and 20-year-old Zach Colliemoreno, whose place of residence wasn’t disclosed.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the sister of Devyn Reiley, who wrote:

At approximately 09:15 hours Saturday morning July 29, 2023, our sister Devyn got to see our Lord and Savior Jesus of Nazareth Face to face…

“She was flying her Family’s T-6 Texan Warbird flying over Lake Winnebago/Oshkosh Wisconsin with a family friend passenger.

“Please pray for our family, and weep with us for our losing her for a season, but rejoice in the promise of the New Heaven and The New Earth. We appreciate your support.

“This go fund me is for my brother-in-law Hunter (Devyn’s beloved Husband)
