Another Bizjet Slides Off Runway At Teterboro

No Injuries Reported

Another business jet skidded off the runway at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport Tuesday night, the second time in five weeks that a corporate aircraft has done so in the past five weeks.

This time, the aircraft in question was a Hawker landing after a flight from Columbus, OH.

Neither the two passengers nor two crew members on board was injured.

The aircraft wound up in a muddy area some 250 feet from the end of the runway, according to airport officials quoted by 1010 WINS Radio in New York.

The runway itself was shut down so recovery crews could remove the jet from the mire.

As ANN reported last month, 20 people were hurt when a Bombardier Challenger 601 on a take-off roll sped off the end of the runway, through the airport perimeter fence and across a busy highway during morning rush hour. The Challenger plunged into a warehouse across the street. Again, no one was killed in the incident, but there were severe injuries.

The cause of Tuesday night's accident was still under investigation.
