1940’s Themed Hangar Dance In Georgia Takes Place September 25th

Dress To Impress In Black Tie, 1940’s Themed Outfits And Historic Uniforms

The upcoming “Keep ‘em Flying” is a hangar dance and dinner that takes place in an aviation museum surrounded by historic World War II aircraft and decorated to recreate the iconic mood of the 1940s.

September 25th from 6:00pm-11:00PM the event will take place at the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia Warbird Museum, Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field, Peachtree City.

The cost for tickets is $100 and must be purchased online. The event gives people the opportunity to honor the Greatest Generation-- the generation that won WWII. The evening will include a full evening of swing dancing and 40’s music and dinner.

“We welcome community participation and the opportunity to extend the work and educational outreach of CAF Airbase Georgia,” said Airbase leader Jim Buckley. “We already have statewide elementary school education units and are working with local high schools and state universities to advance knowledge and interest in aviation and aviation careers.”

Providing the musical entertainment, the Peachtree Jazz Edition will perform music made famous by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman. Described as one of the best bands in Atlanta, the Peachtree Jazz Edition is returning for the17th straight year.

“A 1940s-theme hangar dance combines fashion and timeless music,” said Kym Hughes, Executive Director of the Peachtree City Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to hosting Big Band enthusiasts and swing dancers from throughout Georgia.” Black-tie, 1940s attire and historic uniforms encouraged, but not required.

Additionally, look out for the largest World War II-theme event in Georgia, WWI Heritage Days, which will take place on Saturday, October 9th, 2021. The event is also hosted by CAF Airbase Georgia.
