Source: Tony Charaf, senior VP for tech operations at Delta Air Lines, related the story of a recent visit by Delta CEO Richard Anderson to an engine shop... not always a venue corporate types are comfortable in, or especially familiar with. As Delta reportedly pursues a merger with either United Airlines or Northwest Airlines, those who have dealt with Anderson in the past consider him to be a shrewd operator with a disarming style... that has apparently impressed some of Delta's old-line workers.
