Aero-TV: Tough Gigs For Tough Batteries – True Blue Power Takes On The World

Innovation Comes In Many Sizes And Many Forms... True Blue Power Is The Latest

While at NBAA2015, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, spent some time talking with David Copeland, the Account Manager for True Blue Power.

In this short video Jim brings forward the question of True Blue Power placing their lithium-ion batteries into service in some of the more harsh environments in the world. After all, it’s a new technology.

Copeland responds that this is the type of use the battery was designed for. He goes into some detail about the charging circuit, battery heating, safety that’s built into the battery, and its ability to keep an airline on-time and on schedule. He reminds Jim that it has not been unusual in the past for some commuter style airplanes to remove their batteries on layovers so they can be kept in a temperature controlled condition. Copeland says the technology designed into True Blue Power batteries takes care of these issues for you.

Copeland tells us that the technology involved in the lead acid battery comes out of the mid-1800s. He said it’s about time somebody came up with a better system and he claims that’s what True Blue Power has accomplished.
