ASA Announces 6th Edition of Intro Pilot Training Book

Updated Version of The Pilot's Manual: Ground School Ships for PPL and CPL Students this September

ASA announced the publication of the updated version of The Pilot's Manual: Ground School with the 6th edition of the longstanding text.

Aviation Supplies & Academics - or, the winged ASA logo, as most would be familiar with - released an improved version of the book for all pilot training curricula, with particular attention paid to its suitability for use within the company's Part 141 Private Pilot Kit. This edition includes all the required know-how tested in the course of a private and commercial  pilot certificate. Whether it's information on the FAA Knowledge Exam or the verbal portion of a checkride, the Manual includes full-color images and updates covering cutting-edge fuel, battery, and weather reporting encountered in general aviation.

All the hits, all the greats are included, whether students are learning about airspace, navigation, operations, risk management, physiology, charts, flight planning, and more. Unlike other systems, ASA ensured that The Pilot's Manual: Ground School will see student pilots through not just their private certificate but their commercial as well, saving even a little bit of cost for a grateful young aviator.

The book also includes a forward by Barry Schiff among all 720 of its color pages. The first shipments will arrive at FBOs, retailers and the ASA website by mid-September. Should students prefer an electronic version, the Pilot's Manual may be had as an ebook, hardcover, or as part of the ASA Part 141 bundle. Should a school or program require a separate syllabus, it too can be had piecemeal along in addition to the textbook's graphics should educators require the Powerpoint imagery for use in lesson prep.
