New Engines And New Instruments From MW Fly And PAT Avionics

Canadian Aircraft Kit Maker Bush Caddy Is First North American Partner

By John Ylinen

MW Fly introduced a new line of Aeropower engines rated from 115 to 150 horsepower at AirVenture.  Developed and manufactured in Italy, the new engine is water-cooled and features electronic fuel-injection, integrated reduction gear, and dual fully redundant ECUs.

The engines also include new engine-monitoring instruments developed by P.A.T Avionics.  The HAS-M engine health status annunciator provides comprehensive information on the engine temp, oil pressure, fuel pump, battery, generator, and ECU health.  It even tells the pilot when the engine is ready for takeoff.
According to Tony Watkins, President of Bush Caddy: “the new MW Fly geared and fuel injected engines with their powerful Health System Annunciators by PAT Avionics are a perfect option for our aircraft.”

The Canadian aircraft kit maker is the first company to offer the new engine and instruments in North America.
