Elbit Systems Unveils 3rd Generation Enhanced Vision System At NBAA 2014

Latest Design Uses Fully Digital Infrared Sensor Technology

Elbit Systems of America, LLC launched its new 3rd generation design Enhanced Vision System - Superior Performance (EVS-SP) during the NBAA 2014.

Enhanced Vision System - Superior Performance (EVS-SP) uses cutting-edge, fully digital infrared sensor technology to adjust to environmental conditions in real time and maintain optimal detection. EVS-SP allows taxi, takeoff, and landing operations in all weather situations in accordance with all applicable FAA/EASA/ICAO EVS operational and certification regulations.

Building on its EVS leadership and experience with over 1,500 installed systems, Elbit’s EVS-SP includes new features and improvements such as:

  • High resolution for a clear image
  • Cooled IR imagery for all weather operation
  • Single LRU design with integrated aircraft window for easy aircraft integration
  • Digital video for best image quality
  • Lighter total system installation weight

EVS is a key component to FAA Next Gen and EASA SESAR airspace optimization. The system is applicable for fixed and rotary wing aircraft and is expected to be fully certified in mid-2015.
