AD: Airbus SAS Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-23-11

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus SAS Model A319 series airplanes; Model A320-211, -212, -214, -231, -232, and -233 airplanes; and Model A321-111, -112, -131, -211, -212, -213, -231, and -232 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by investigations that revealed that the cover seal of the brake dual distribution valve (BDDV) was damaged and did not ensure efficient sealing.

This AD requires identifying the BDDV part number installed on the airplane, and modifying or replacing BDDVs having certain part numbers.

DATES: This AD is effective December 19, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 1,136 airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:
Identification and modification or replacement - Up to 6 work-hours × $85 per hour = $510. Parts - Up to $395. Cost per aircraft - Up to $905.
