Atlantic Aviation Oklahoma City Hosting Girls In Aviation Day

2nd Annual Event At Wiley Post Airport FBO

The Women in Aviation International (WAI) is hosting a free Girls in Aviation Day on September 21, 2024, at the Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City.

The event is free of charge, but registration is required for admission. The Greater Oklahoma City Metro Chapter is partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, Atlantic Aviation (PWA), Oklahoma City Department of Airports, and the Oklahoma National Guard. The WAI OKC Chapter is expecting more than 600 girls to attend.

There will be exhibitors filling Atlantic Aviation’s newest hangar along with female aviation pioneers who will share their experiences. The education area will be filled with flight simulators, STEM learning kits, physics, drones, airspace, and aircraft manufacturing exhibits providing ample opportunities for hands-on experiences that will make lifelong impressions and maybe attract some girls into aviation or a related career. Some of them will go on to join the next generation of Oklahoma’s workforce.

Women in Aviation International is dedicated to encouraging and advancing women in all aviation and aerospace and related careers. Members of WAI come from all segments of aviation and aerospace and include astronauts, pilots, maintenance techs, air traffic controllers, engineers, flight attendants, air show performers, schedulers and dispatchers, airport managers, educators, business owners, journalists and many others.

The event will be held at the Atlantic Aviation FBO, Hangar 5, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Remember – the event is free but you must register. Follow the link below.
