Mayman Aerospace Takes Flight with P100 Demonstrator

Lofty Goals Begin to Take Shape As Mayman Moves from CGI Models to Real-World Flight Testing

Mayman Aerospace finished off a test flight using their Razor P100, proving the use of their proprietary flight control OS and gimbaling, vectored thrust arrangement.

The test took place at the US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California, throughout "18 months of meticulous engineering and development efforts". The most recent battery of tests demonstrated the P100's ability to tackle what they deemed complex flight maneuvers to highlight the model's ability to tackle complicated missions without direct human control. Their testing touched on a few new bases for the firm, carrying a payload of 50 pounds and proving the reliability of their beyond line-of-sight networking.

While the hardware takes the headlines, the software may be the real news around the Mayman water cooler. 'SKYFIELD', in their own corporate parlance, is an "advanced AI-driven autonomous flight control system" designed to take on every aspect of airborne operations for the P100. In practice, that should allow P100 users to hand off complex missions to a Razor UAS without a second thought, trusting in the platform's own decision-making capability.

"These flights represent the culmination of extraordinary engineering expertise and relentless dedication from our team," said David Mayman, Founder & CEO at Mayman Aerospace. "What we've accomplished positions us at the vanguard of autonomous VTOL flight technology. There is simply nothing comparable to the RAZOR family of aircraft available in today's market, and these successful tests validate our innovative approach to solving complex challenges in this domain."
