U.K. Army Couple Embarks On Fundraising Trip In The U.S.

Plan To Fly To Each Of The 48 Contiguous United States In Record Time

Two members of the U.K. Army have embarked on a three-week journey that will take them to all 48 contiguous United States in a Cessna 150 in an attempt to set a world record and raise money for charity.

Reservist engineer Sapper Tess Morris-Paterson will be flying the 150, while her partner, Royal Medical Corps Captain Morag Morris-Paterson will be along for the ride.

Forces.net reports that their flight is to benefit Wings for Warriors, a U.K. registered charity, which gives wounded, injured or sick servicemen and women a future worth fighting for, by training them as professional pilots. according to the charity's website. Tess an Morag hope to raise about £10,000, or a little over $12,000 for the cause.

The pair began their trip Wednesday morning. There is plenty of social media, of course, and you can follow their progress here.
