AD: Pacific Aerospace Limited Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-10-04

PRODUCT: Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL airplanes.

ACTION: Final rule; request for comments.

SUMMARY: The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2018-03-15 for the aircraft listed above.

This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as reports of finding abrasion damage behind the instrument panel caused by ventilation hose chafing.

DATES: This AD is effective June 4, 2018. Comments must be received by June 29, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD will affect 22 products of U.S. registry. The agency estimates that it would take about 1 work-hour per product to comply with the basic requirements of this AD. The average labor rate is $85 per work-hour. Based on these figures, the estimated cost of the AD on U.S. operators to be $1,870, or $85 per product.

Any necessary follow-on actions would take about 2 work-hours with parts costing $90, for a cost of $260 per product. The extent of abrasion damage could vary from airplane to airplane.
