Bombardier Global 7500 Gets 150th Speed Record

City-Pair Record Gets All-Time Most-Decorated BizJet Crown

Bombardier announced that its Global 7500 business jet chalked up another performance milestone as it added its 150th city-pair speed record, making it the most ever set by a business aircraft type.

The latest speed records include Tokyo to Los Angeles, Toronto to Paris, New York to London, and Hong Kong to Montreal. During those trips the Global 7500 averaged speeds in excess of 1,000 kph / 622 mph on 20 of its record-setting flights as it brought passengers to their destinations in record time.

Previous achievements on the Global 7500 include the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation – an 8,225 nm / 15,233 km flight from Sydney to Detroit. In addition, it holds the record for the longest range non-stop mission from London City Airport to Los Angeles.

Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President of Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense said, “The Global 7500 continues to redefine what is possible in business aviation. Our customers count on us to deliver a business tool with the highest standards in luxury, speed and reliability, and the Global 7500 overachieves on all fronts. Many of these records have been set with passengers on board in varying conditions and airports, making these achievements even more meaningful and reaching this pinnacle more remarkable.”

The Global 7500 has a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a baseline range of 7,700 nm / 14,260 km, enabling it to set a new standard for performance in the ultra-long range category. Its Smooth Flex Wing gives it exceptional lift on takeoff and approach to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and enhancing safety as it delivers a smooth ride for passengers.

The aircraft has a lower fuel burn and emissions, yet also produces excellent short-field and high-speed performance, a desirable combination in a platform for discriminating customers.
