magniX Next-Gen 400 Wh/kg Samson Battery

Higher Energy Density Cell Extends Electric Aircraft Range

magniX announced its new next-generation Samson battery is powered by a 400 Wh/kg cell developed with its cell partner and leads the industry in energy density. magniX now looks beyond electric aircraft at wider, non-aerospace applications for batteries in defense, industry, storage, and marine.

magniX introduced its Samson product line with the Samson300 in 2024, and the company has the Samson300 on display at this year's Paris Air Show along with its complete full electric powertrain for aircraft as well as a model of its high speed HeliStorm engine for electric helicopters.

Reed Macdonald, CEO of magniX said, “This significant breakthrough in energy density will extend the range and payload of electric aircraft, further enhancing the strong commercial case for electric flight, while also widening the use cases for our battery technology.

“With our fully-integrated electric powertrains for aircraft, our new HeliStorm engine for electric helicopters, and continuing swift improvements in our Samson battery product, magniX remains the industry leader in cutting-edge electric technology.”

Riona Armesmith, CTO at magniX said, “Achieving this breakthrough is a major step forward in one of the world’s most important areas of technology. Our Samson battery product is establishing itself as the go-to choice both for aerospace and for other high-end applications that require exceptional energy density, safety features, reliability, and long cycle life.”

The magniX full electric powertrain will be on display at the company’s exhibit in Hall 5, Stand E258.
