ALPA Statement On Endeavor Air Flight 4819

Echoes Delta And Endeavor Air Rebuttal Of False Assertions

The Air Line Pilots Association Int’l (ALPA) has been working with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) and the U.S. NTSB regarding the investigation into the accident involving Endeavor Air Flight 4819.

The organization’s statement echoes and adds to the rebuttals issued by Delta and Endeavor on the Delta website:

Captain: Mesaba Airlines, a progenitor company of Endeavor Air, hired the captain in October 2007. He has served both as an active-duty Captain and in pilot training and flight safety capacities. Assertions that he failed training events are false. Assertions that he failed to flow into a pilot position at Delta Air Lines due to training failures are also false.    

First Officer: Hired in January 2024 by Endeavor Air and completed training in April. She has been flying for Endeavor since that time. Her flight experience exceeded the minimum requirements set by U.S. Federal regulations. Assertions that she failed training events are false.

“Both crew members are qualified and FAA certified for their positions.

“All pilots operating in scheduled airline operations under FAR Part 121 are trained and evaluated to the same uncompromising standard, regardless of gender or background. ALPA is continuing to support this investigation and adhering to the fundamental principle of obtaining all the facts to determine what may have led to the accident. All factors must be thoroughly and exhaustively evaluated in order to identify every aspect of an accident to prevent a recurrence.

“Engaging in speculation, especially on social media, only serves to hamper and undermine an ongoing investigation. ALPA continues to recommend against publicly speculating on this accident.”
